Fiqh Sosial
Pesantren and fiqh sosial become an inseparable part on Kyai Sahal thought. Various social movement through collective actions, systemized and institutionalized in accommodating various social problems making pesantren as important means to realize the objective of Maqasid Syariah. While the idea of Fiqh Social produced a thought which transforming the face of Fiqh not merely dogmatic and normative concept, but progressive and responsive to the dynamic social change. This is in accordance with message of revelation that the duty of human being on earth namely; ibadatullah (worship) and imaratul ardl (bring civilization on earth), from this duties, human being as subject and the key of successful life is the attainment of happiness in the world and hereafter (sa'adatuddarain).
About
Kiai Sahal:
Kiai
Sahal has the full name of Muhammad Ahmad Sahal bin Mahfudh bin Abdussalam.
Charismatic cleric from the Kajen villages, Margoyoso, Pati, a santri village
for adding pesantren and thousands of santri studied to scholars. Doctoral
degree (doctoral honoris causa obtained from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah) is an
honorary degree for his progress in developing pesantren and communities
specializing in scholars the field of fiqh through the making of phenomenal,
fiqh sosial. Good scientific analysis and understanding can make Kiai Sahal's
thoughts grounded and useful for the benefit of the people. Kiai Sahal created
a contextual fiqh concept, fiqh that could provide tangible benefits for
humanity. It is the pesantren that is obliged to approve and ground the fiqh.
Departing from the conception of fiqh sosial, Kiai Sahal chose to change
pesantren as an institution that responds to various difficulties that are
improving society.
Kiai Sahal Mahfudh's thoughts were not only
religious matters, but also various problems related to public matters such as
politics, economics, education, social, law, and culture (which was later
called fiqh sosial). This is what led him as a picture of "modern
kiai", in the sense of being able to actualize the traditional impulse to
be the consumption of modern society. Sumanto al-Qurtuby (2001), using a
typology that supports religious Esposito asks Kiai Sahal's thought in the category
of historical social approach which discusses modern problems using classic
texts and the historical values of the kitab kuning.
About
IPMAFA:
The Pesantren Mathali’ul Falah Institute (IPMAFA)
Pati was established in 2008 under the name Mathali'ul Falah College of
Religion (STAIMAFA). Then on September 25, 2015, STAIMAFA changed its status to
become an institute by the name of the Pesantren Mathali'ul Falah Institute (IPMAFA).
IPMAFA is a form of continuation of pesantren education that has been aged for
hundreds of years, so the foundation of aqeedah, philosophy, ethics and values
remains based on the basic values of pesantren. Simultaneously, as a form
of strategic response so that pesantren education remains relevant to the
times, social and academic changes, it requires academic transformation and a
new institutional base in the development of IPMAFA. The long education process
for almost a century at the Perguruan Islam Mathaliul Falah (PIM) has produced
a unique formulation of pesantren values inherent in personal figures known
as Salih and Akram which are then manifested in the value of 'Nine plus One'.
This pesantren's distinctive value base is then aspired to be internalized in
IPMAFA's academic community which is called the "Basic Value of Salih
Akram"/”Nilai Dasar Shalih Akram” (NDSA).
